Poised and Poisonous

Setting them up,

Making them work.

Believing in no one,

Blind to love’s worth.

Her body - poised,

Drawing in the unsuspecting;

Her beauty, poison,

Her venom - unrelenting.

Salty tears mingle with sweat;

Unguarded hearts divided.

Madness consumes guilt,

For the pain is one-sided.

An artist - her art, dark and morbid,

Hearts have become her blank canvas to haunt.

She blends shadows, swallowing colour;

Her love - detached, nonchalant.

Poised, she is a vision.

To breathe her in, is to take the poison.

No one will hurt her. She is no victim.

Toxic and tragic, she is ready to deal love’s treason.

About the Creator

Jollyoddbod Poetry

Here I am, and here I'll stay;

Like the moon in the darkness that refuses to fade.

Clouds will cover, but cannot take from my reign;

Mark this as the moment that they realise, as they scoff with distain.

They fell asleep, I cannot be blamed.

    Creatively expressed! Feels like one of the challenge entries, but I’m not sure as there’s a lot..
