The Place I Should Have Stayed

I am trapped in my past with no future I need to change

The Place I Should Have Stayed

I walk the line between the gone and real,

A path that keeps repeating what I knew,

The past returns with truths I never feel.

I try to trust the way the nights reveal,

Yet everything still drifts back into you,

I walk the line between the gone and real.

Regret becomes a weight I always steal,

A whisper shaped by choices I outgrew,

The past returns with truths I never feel.

I chase a moment longing tried to heal,

While shadows call me toward a deeper view,

I walk the line between the gone and real.

The echo fades but never breaks the seal,

It circles every thought I try to renew,

The past returns with truths I never feel.

I stand before the door I can’t repeal,

Still knowing loss is something I pursue,

I walk the line between the gone and real,

The past returns with truths I never feel.
