1

A loving husband kisses his lovely wife goodnight

How he wishes he could hold her tight

But things changed on that fateful night

A day that can never be made right

2

It was a day like any other

A mother of one prepares supper

But something happened

That would make you shudder

The phone rang,

Your daughter was found,

Gutted in a gutter

3

The cops came and went

The reporters asked and dreamt

The couple was not the same

But to have pity would be a shame

4

The family was a happy one

But something happened

The daughter said,

You will have a grandson

So naturally,

The couple grabbed the gun

5

The husband was thorough

And the wife was clever

But something happened

That would chill you to your marrow

The phone rang

Their daughter said hello,

I’ll see you tomorrow
