I Didn’t Say That Out Loud challenge

Eyes open blinking,

Particles dance in sun beams,

Outside sounds come in.

No Alarm went off,

Rolling over in the bed,

Checking on his phone.

"Wait, what time is it?

Damn, I am gonna be late!

Gotta brush my teeth"

Rushing hurriedly,

Throwing water on his face,

He readies himself.

Today is the day.

He will pluck up the courage,

Ask her on a date.

"Wow, can you feel that?

I am already sweating!

Best grab some cologne..."

He strides out the door,

Confidently then unsure,

What about his phone?

He leaps up the stairs,

Getting hotter and hotter,

Picking up his phone.

The weather is lush,

Bright and blue and warm and clear.

Today is the day.

Perspiration forms,

Beads blotting over his clothes,

Trickling down his body.

His breathe starts to race,

With a pounding in his chest,

Locked in now focused.

Stopping for coffee,

His regular is needed.

Americano.

He sits in and drinks,

The place is crowded and loud,

He can barely think.

Thats when he does it,

Planning everything he'll say,

Until she appears...

"Oh my God it's you..."

She says leaving him speechless,

His palms go clammy.

She knows who he is,

And isn't repulsed by him,

Could she be the one?

"Say something" He thinks,

Misshapen words stammer out,

Heat flashes throughout.

His cheeks crimson red,

She looks down expectantly,

As he fumbles hard.

Lashings of sweat run,

His butt wet and his pits moist,

"Good seeing you here".

His heart in his throat,

She looks at him to reply,

But our man's now mute...

Haiku

Family is everything to me, I do this in the hope I can one day to support them. You'll find short stories and tantalizing prologues. Sickly dark humour and honest realism. A wannabe writer testing the waters.

You had me smiling the whole way though. I could feel the nerves building.
