I hate the cold

The blinds shudder as the breeze breaks the stiff stillness,

A creaking cold creeps as the pale sunlight reaps winters fickleness,

A rustle and a tumble is heard as a mans sleep is disturbed,

Beep beep, ring ring, his alarm starts to sing,

With a shrug and a moan, the man starts to groan,

Cold bites at his ears and freezes his eyes,

His phone on his side not wanting to get up but he tries,

"Ouch!" He exclaims with great fury and vigor,

As he steps on a sharp piece of Lego and a small action figure!

"Why is this here? I should go back to bed" as he steps towards the window seeing his shed,

The roof is white and covered in snow,

His cantankerous face becoming a glow.

"No work today", he says to himself

Picking the toys up off the floor and putting them on a shelf,

He chuckles and wraps himself up warmly.

*Lets get the kids up* He thinks,

"A snow day is special, but first I'll make them hot drinks!"

With coco in hand he gives them the good news,

They wake to look out and experience all the white winters hues.
