Upon a bright morning, not gloomy or gray,
An alien landed, in a rather gay way.
With a spin and a twirl, it touched down with glee,
Eager to see what on Earth there might be.
"Hello!" said I, with a tip of my hat,
"Welcome to Earth, where at? Here at!"
The alien blinked with its three big eyes,
And gave a soft chuckle, to my surprise.
"I've seen many a planet, both near and far,
From the glow of the Milky Way to the tiniest star.
But tell me, dear Earthling, in this world so grand,
What is your planet’s super unique brand?"
"Ah," I exclaimed, with a knowing smile,
"Come with me, and sit for a while."
To a bustling square, we made our way,
Where a bench stood waiting, in a warm sunray.
"Watch," I whispered, "as the world goes by,
Each face, each story, each tear, each sigh.
For on other planets, you'll find rocks and rings,
But humans? They're Earth's most curious things."
They dance in the rain and sing to the moon,
They dream big dreams and hope to attune.
Some move with intent, some float like a feather,
Yet all are distinct, threads woven together.
The alien watched, its eyes grew wide,
As laughter and tears, side by side,
Passed by our bench, in a colorful array,
Of hopes and dreams, on public display.
"The beauty of Earth," I began to explain,
"Isn't just mountains, rainbows, or rain.
It's the people, you see, each one so unique,
With their own tales to tell and their own peaks to seek."
The visitor nodded, a tear in its eye,
"I see," it whispered, "the why of the why.
For while other worlds have their grandeur and might,
Only Earth has humans, you are quite right."
And so we sat, until the setting of sun,
Watching the humans, each and every one.
For in the vastness of space, on this planet so blue,
The splendor of humanity shines brightly and true.
