It is a dissonance in our way of life

that has trampled our growth.

Amidst the illusion of space and time

we learned to live

under the assumption that relativity

should be the only noun

by which we gauge our merit

and our achievements.

But this, dear reader,

was the error of the working class

and the tool of those in power.

We had been manipulated

by tendencies that,

by all logical measures,

we should have learned to overcome

a long, long time before

I set my hand

to pen these words.

We hadn't though.

Pavlovian and aggressive,

we leap up and down

upon the food-pellet button;

not to quell our hunger

but to ensure a larger yield

than our contemporaries.

What the fuck is that about?
