The Owl
A powerful owl regards me with disdain
He can’t see I’m just like him
I’m of the earth too
Alone and watchful
Ugly is the view
Human over humanity
Principles amiss
Hearts and hands in pockets
Mirrored eyelids
Being blind by choice
The owl and I
We’ll have no part
Nature teaches
Peace assures
Green is where resides my heart
Birdsong betters money
Breath on a frosty morn
Worth more than you can know
Living clean and clear
I won’t go to my bed dirty
Green is growth
Out there, grey
Leave me be in this place of mine
I’ll not bother you
You cannot bother me.
