The Ones with the Guns

Should warriors fight or say a farewell to arms?

By Skyler SaundersPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

In war, why are the troops even armed at all?

Why can’t they just sacrifice themselves to

Better the greater good and let them fall?

Don’t the ones with the guns represent few?

Conscientious objectors should be seen

As ones who ought to fight but don’t, so they

Become medics and corpsmen and stay lean,

Strong, and brave but their guns do not just say.

Bullets, bombs, missiles, rounds, and mortars should

Be the way that the enemy should be fought.

Should only some carry cannons that could

Do damage? Or should everyone be taught?

Combat ought to be nothing but hellish.

Folks ought to never only embellish.
