The Ones Who Stayed Inside My Heart

I could never let him go

The Ones Who Stayed Inside My Heart

I walked tonight through cold air,

feeling the world watching me breathe.

The street was quiet, yet it felt full,

as if shadows waited, listening for truth.

I thought of love, the kind that shakes,

the kind that breaks, yet refuses to die.

I remembered faces, soft with memory,

loud with longing, etched into time.

Fear moved near, slow and patient,

whispering questions I never answered.

Grief followed me, close but gentle,

carrying names I still speak.

A shape appeared, quiet and still,

standing ahead, waiting for me.

My breath tightened, my thoughts froze,

yet my feet walked slow and sure.

Light touched its form, and a warm ache

filled my bones, reminding me gently.

I reached forward, hoping it stayed.

Hoping it knew I still remembered.

The figure faded, soft and silent,

as dawn opened its quiet door.

I walked on slowly, feeling the ones

who lived in me, guiding my steps.
