Dear Moon,

From the moment I first looked up and saw your soft glow through my bedroom window, you have been my quiet companion. When the world felt too loud, when tears slipped down my cheeks in the dark, you were there; calm, steady, and beautiful. You never asked anything of me. You simply shone, and somehow that was enough to remind me that I wasn’t alone.

As a little girl, I used to whisper my secrets to you; the dreams I didn’t dare tell anyone else, the fears I didn’t want to admit I had. You never judged me. You just listened, bathing me in a silver light that made even my worries seem gentle. You made me feel seen, as if your light reached into my heart and said, I know you. I see you. You matter.

In the storms of growing up, when everything felt uncertain, your quiet strength became my guide. No matter where I was; on a new street, in a new town, or lost in my own thoughts, there you were, unchanged and watching. You showed me that constancy can be love, that peace can be found in something as simple as light.

Even now, when I feel restless or afraid, I find you again and breathe easier. You remind me that darkness isn’t an end, but a space waiting to be illuminated. You are my friend, my compass, my reminder that beauty endures.

Thank you, Moon, for being the gentle presence that taught a young girl to trust the night…and herself. I will always look for you, and I know you will always be there, glowing softly, guiding me home.

With love,

The girl who never stopped watching you
