Boy it did the job too

The Olden Days Drills

No plugs, no leads, no charge in sight

just brute and bird from morn to night

he found a pecker, caged it tight

and used its beak to drill just right

No toolbox full of shiny steel

just bark and bone and one rough deal

he points, it pecks, the job gets done

primitive work, but oddly fun

Neighbours laugh, but he don’t care

it drills the hole, it gets him there

no sparks, no smoke, no noisy whine

just tap tap tap — the old design

Made by Black and Pecker, aye

before we knew what wires could buy

and in its way, it still beats hands

the cleverest tool in caveman lands

Haha- we have a rare green winged woodpecker in out cherry tree right now! Peckity peck. Love the line, "he found a pecker, caged it tight". Funny!
