The Nameless Wonder
Poetry on Misperception
Grace defeats misunderstanding. -Michelle Liew

I once stood watch with steadfast grace,
A guardian, nameless, duty bound,
Then, fear etched deep lies on my face
Leaving me shunned, unsound
*****************************************
Their whispers shaped the ogre in me
A cretin they cursed, but could not see
They wove their fear, they crafted lies
'Twas not my hand that stemmed their sighs,
But theirs--the echoes they'd become.

They wove their fear, they crafted lie. This poem has it all - the way fear distorts perception. Well Done Michelle!!!
This poem is wonderful! It has depth, tragedy, and power! ✨😊
This is beautifully haunting, with a quiet strength beneath the sorrow. The way fear distorts truth and shapes perception is woven in so well. That last line—chilling and powerful. Loved it!
lovely and inspirational, Michelle
Gorgeous work! Love your word choice as always.
'Twas not my hand that stemmed their sighs, But theirs--the they'd become." I especially loved these lines!
Fear is always etched deep for some reason! Great work!
