The Musings Of The Mind

Volume 5

By Jessica TaylorPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

The Tides Of My War

The breeze is soft upon my skin;

Tonight sparkles in every direction;

Rejuvenating the soul within.

The taste of coffee is sweet upon my lips

Clouds cover the thumbnail moon;

My mind reflects to reminisce.

This is my lonely time of day;

Tears hold back these tides of my war;

I watch as the children run and play.

Music in the background;

Melody with sweet rhyme;

I seek the way to find my ground.

How to walk through the taint;

Without the fear of falling hard

When my heart feels so faint.

Then my thought turns to the whole of you

I become calm and oh so steady

And now I see the heart of my own truth.

Once More Through The Sands Of Time

My heart beats to rhyme;

I see you smile at me

I jump through the sands of time

If only for one more glimpse of thee.

Creator Of Souls

My children are reminders of my heart;

My friends are reminders of my mind;

You are the reminder of my whole.

The tides of love to me impart

Songs of old remain for me to find

But, you are the one who forged my soul.

Souls Fortune

Through voice and words combined

Through efforts of vast belief

Through the hard unknown years

My eyes are now open bright.

My entity re-defined

Flowing much with relief

Embracing unwanted fears

With the shining light.

Music

Therapeutic sound;

Words and rhyme;

Drums begin to pound;

Melody out of time.

Ring out more;

Flow steady and true;

Calm my heart and soul;

To make the tides anew.

The storm rages on outside;

Covering the warmth of the sun;

Emotions of all circle inside;

Beckoning me to come.

Rhythm divine;

Relaxing the whole of me

It is time to re-define

It is time to break free.

Through my silence I shout

It is the fight throughout time

Bringing the melody about

Only to quench our thirst for rhyme.

About the Creator

Jessica Taylor

My deepest desire is to be able to help people; since I am too shy to be a professional speaker I decided that writing is my next best option. However, I do love the feel of the pen upon the page and the clicking of my keys on my keyboard.
