The Motions

A storm has been chasing me, and it’s finally caught up. The rain is turned sideways for as far as my eyes can see, the wind shouts to me, and the motions toss me about. Will I survive to tell the story? I guess I did… -but did I really?

Up one moment,

And down the next

Whether or not something is right,

Nothing is left

As I look into the sky waiting for it to fall,

I wonder, when's the last I did something right?

In regards to what I've left,

No right answer turns my mind left‐

Right into the joy of my distress,

Only all of nothing is left‐

I cannot calm this storm

Neither can I sink nor swim

Only ride the waves of the motions

Tossed back and forth to torment's pleasure

For what purpose?

Who's in the right?

And who will be left?...

Unseen by the world

A toy to the ocean

Lost in the seas of the motions

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
