You wake up in the morning
And the thing in your head
Says, “Come on. The movie’s starting.”
So you vacate your bed.
^^^^^^^^
The opening credits
Don’t make a lot of sense
But wait a little longer
You know you love the suspense.
^^^^^^^^
It all starts slowly
But that’s OK
It’s happened oh, so many times
It hasn’t skipped a day.
^^^^^^^^
What about wardrobe?
Makeup as well?
The hair still needs fixing
Lose the frizz, find the gel.
^^^^^^^^
Take a look at the script
Is it romance or crime?
And here we go yet again
It's the morning -
“Show Time.”

I love how you gave more depth to morning for me through this poem 🥰 Wonderfully written, Marie!
It's more of a shitshow for me, lol. Loved your poem!
enjoy the parallel reality between a television program and a normal day!
Let the show begin! Fun little poem. I actually think the brevity adds to the effect. It's like the preview of a coming attraction. It would make we want to see which genre the day assumes! ⚡💙⚡
