The Moon’s Lover

Love Poem

By I.V. LopezPublished 8 years ago 2 min read

As A diamond you craved her,

now as coal you abandon,

For Freed from her light your soul can ascend...

Betas, alphas, omegas.

None can meet his lover's stance,

Eternally unreachable

but she endlessly returns to hear HIM sing

The song of courting,

He begs her compassion,

For once a month they fight.

Once a month she leaves and every day after she inches closer.

Gaining mass as she nears return

quarter, half, three quarters. Full

Till complete dairy feeds the beast

He must satisfy his desire

But she is a tease never truly his

Therefore he cries.

Dear canine, recognize she's not yours to keep.

She sways the waves,

Frolics with the ocean,

& Kisses the earth at its cheeks.

But once a month she's dedicated to you,

she yearns to dance with your wind,

As you lust for her radiant light.

No pack could take the place of,

Your goddess who sees all.

Great night lion,

Though the teeth mirrored on your paws could never gouge her,

The prickly hair never be pet,

Nor may you ever taste her milky beauty.

Every night you scream her name, seducing her.

As each phase, her countenance darkens less,

And she gives herself to you for just one night.

knowing she must leave again quite soon, but craving your breath against her

rocky atmosphere.

Your cry reaches passed its norm,

It's indication not light years far,

For among the countless, plasma models, she stands out on this night.

So it wraps around her.

Holds her there for she can't move.

Paralyzed in eternity for just the night's view.

Posing for all but only dancing for you.

As your howl licks each crevice,

Touches her soul, but only on the night of her peak.

For your affection must settle,

Admiration at best.

You can't claim her physique,

Though your roar is hers to keep.

Quite sadistic, she's selfish.

She keeps you for herself, but whores around with each of your brothers.

But you come back for more,

Still beg her with your wail,

And she gladly radiates false love, for chauvinistic she enjoys this game,

you compliment her narcissism.

You are pitiful.

Destined in sorrow,

Forever to cry.

part of the incomplete pack.

You'll spend your life howling,

Yearning for that which is forbidden.

Wishing to sin her for yourself,

But you'll never satisfy that desire.

Though you know she plays,

You'll keep trying,

Till mortality plays your song's final performance.

Your spirit can then reach her, as once did your screams.

And that day SHE will weep.

for at close proximity,

you crave her Not.

so she'll mourn.

Each crater tears a separate paramour.

for your mirrored lifetimes,

shatter her in death.

you'll find your peace in the eternal dismay,

As you murder that which you once loved...

As A diamond you craved her,

now as coal you abandon

For Freed from her light your soul can ascend.
