Oh, the melody of life, a symphony so sweet,
With notes that dance, and rhythms that beat.
A song for every moment, a tune for every mood,
A language that speaks, where words can't intrude.
Music has the power, to soothe and to heal,
To bring us together, and help us to feel.
It can lift us up, when we're feeling down,
And turn a cloudy day, into a brighter one all around.
From the softest ballad, to the catchiest beat,
Music has a way, of moving our feet.
It takes us on a journey, through the highs and lows,
And leaves us with a memory, that forever glows.
So let us embrace, the melody of life,
And let its rhythm, ease away our strife.
For music has a power, that's truly divine,
A language that speaks, to the soul and the mind.

My poetry collection Beautiful and Brutal Things is done. It's actually done and finally published over 270 pages. Over a year of my life went into this book. More than a year, really. Long days at my computer, sometimes seven days a week because I couldn't stop even when I probably should have. Then two months of editing that felt harder than the writing itself.
