The Mask of Friendship
When smiles conceal, and trust turns unreal
By Emma Published 5 months ago • 1 min read

We shared our nights, we shared our days,
We laughed through storms in countless ways.
I held your hand, I called you true,
But shadows hid the side of you.
You wore a mask I couldn’t see,
A silent thief of loyalty.
Your words were sweet, your tone was kind,
Yet daggers hid behind your mind.
I built my world on fragile trust,
It crumbled down, it turned to dust.
The bond I thought would never break,
Was just a lie, a cruel mistake.
Yet from this pain a strength is born,
A wiser self, though bruised and torn.
For friends may fade, and truths may bend,
But self-belief will never end.
So let them go, those hearts untrue,
Their mask will crack, the lies shine through.
For better souls await your call,
Where trust is real, and love stands tall.
