I’m lost I feel so left behind once more

I sit, I stare, I eat and wonder when

When will we ever sing and play and soar

My friends enjoy their parties way past ten

*

I mask, I stand six feet from everyone

My friends don’t mask cuz freedom is their call

Stay home, no guests, no work, no friends, no fun.

It’s lonely here twelve months plus two is all

*

Their life goes on the same, my life hit pause

I’m tossed aside my feelings they discount

To love my neighbor is my noble cause

The rift of thought is too much to surmount

*

And yet I love no matter what they think

They love me too from this I can not shrink
