Oh plans for journeys plans for friends and fun

From dawn to dusk we’d hike, and swim and laugh

To travel, play, and frolic in the sun

Enjoying those we love along our path

Stay away stand apart cover your face

Covid pandemic its worse than the flu

A virus spread attacking human race

We hide in our houses what else to do

No hugs no potlucks no friends in your room

We sewed, cooked and read, wrote songs in our head

Technology helped to call text and zoom

Worked remote from bed, tried not to get dead

And yet the time has come to poke and prick

A shot will keep grandma from getting sick
