The Man That No Longer Wanted

It is what it is

By Andrew DominguezPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

He wanted love.

He watched movies; he wanted to feel the magic from their characters and their stories.

He wanted to feel the feeling accompanied with all the flying doves.

Instead, he searched for something…unreal?

A fallacy derivative from a desperate want?

At least that’s what his friends said—you’re trying too hard!

Too hard to look for the reason to find life worth living?

Or is going to an aimless job enough to say you’re killing at life! You know you’re just fibbing!

At work, someone says, “You should smile more!”

So you do as told; you need money for more food to store.

Your heart remains starved.

Anorexia of the heart.

Sh!h! Don’t use that word!

Hunger cues gone. Now running on reserves.

Now the man that no longer wanted.

Nothing more than to stop feeling haunted.

By the meaning of life.

That he no longer saw as the reason for his fight.
