The Man in the Red Sky
He stands alone against the burning clouds,
The air is painted with forgotten prayers,
The light behind him bleeds through silence,
And the earth mirrors his empty stare.
He once knew laughter that could move the dawn,
Now only embers echo his name,
The horizon curls around his thoughts,
And every breath tastes faintly of flame.
He has walked through years of smoke and rain,
Each memory another ghost to bear,
The wind calls softly, but he does not turn,
There is no one left to answer there.
The water glows with dying suns,
He feels their warmth but not their grace,
He whispers love to the sky that burns,
And finds no mercy in its face.
When the night descends, it takes him whole,
His shadow blends into the fire,
And though he stands, he’s long been gone,
A man undone by his own desire.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️

I appreciate the structural rhythm and how each stanza builds on the previous one, reflecting the descent into solitude. The poet skillfully mirrors emotional unraveling through natural elements like sky, fire, and water.
