The Main Thing

The Mainspring

By Joseph SeveroPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

“Here’s the main thing:

Self-maintenance plays the mainspring;

Must monitor your well-being

- the wellspring - the source of all that’s swell, see

- I spun my change into the fountain -

Wished, hoped beside the structure

- what had happened: Inhibitions ruptured, fell, and flattened;

Discomforting old upholstery was punctured

- No longer was I saddened;

Jubilee had took a hold of me

- it told a story, which unfolded as we rolled around the rotary;

I felt threefold beholden;

Lo, behold the passage:

Lowering your soul into a lull, it leaves it dull;

Playing roles you know aren’t fit is faux;

But in doing so, you learn, grow - come into your own;

It’s ironic: Still low modes could be anulled, so, you can free your flow, and, follow afterglows

- True faith is ariose - bright and beautiful as snow;

Listen to your heart, as you groove you’ll recompose;

Catch your metronome - the tempo ticks as you go.”
