The Luckiest Star

Make a wish when you see it shining bright in the night.

The Luckiest Star

They say a million stars were born

in dust and fire, cold and bright,

but one outshone the restless swarm,

a jewel against the endless night.

It spun through storms of silent dark,

unchained, yet never lost its way,

while lesser flames burned out or strayed,

it held its course, it chose to stay.

No comet’s rage, no planet’s pull

could shake its steady silver gleam.

Through time and ruin, still it stood,

a wish, a guide, a quiet dream.

And though the heavens shift and fall,

and fate forgets what once it swore,

the luckiest star will shine through all,

unchallenged, burning evermore.

I believe we all have a lucky star to look upon, and your poem makes it possible to do such. Good job.

  • The notion of a star being lucky not for its brilliance but for its perspective on the universe was beautifully profound.

  • So good 👏
