The Love Collection - Part Four
Part Four Of A Collection Of Love Poems
Poem 10: Just Memories
She's gone.
Lips
once moist
with her kiss,
are dry.
Eyes
which brushed
he pale skin
search.
Her voice
is absent
from my ear,
her scent
no longer
fills my nose.
Just memories
fading
in the sunlight
remain.
Poem 11: Love
It's a friend
in your life
or a thief
in the night,
it's a stranger
in the street
people help
others fight.
It is old
it is wise
it is young
tells no lies
but it comes
in a disguise
you never
quite expect.
Poem 12: Age
The furrows
on her face
I have always known.
The smile
has gained
more jowl,
the hands
have lost
elasticity
and the body
its energy,
but the eyes
still fix
like a hawk
still hold
like talons
and maintain
the dignity
her fading mind
has lost.
