The Love Collection - Part Five
Part Five Of A Collection Of Love Poems
Poem 13: Yo-yo Love
It's the sense of loss
that something
uniquely beautiful
has died.
That a feeling
which once
made you whole
is slowly
but surely
tearing you apart.
Yet
the caress
the kiss
her warmth
can reset time,
can
for an instance
remove the pain,
so the process
may begin
again.
Poem 14: Once More
Once more
you leave me,
with an empty room
and a fireless grate,
with a quiet house
and a lean weekend
with a lonely bed
and a broken heart.
Poem 15: The Power
It doesn't quail
with the falling
of night.
Winter's call
doesn't make it
fly south.
It doesn't high-tail
when the heat
is intense.
Force
cannot break it
time
cannot crush it
strength
cannot bend it,
only the recklessness
of youth
can shatter
the power
of a heart.
