The Lost Soul
I walked the road where no one goes,
Where stars forget to light the sky,
Where silence hums like hidden pain,
the even angels dare not fly.
The wind remembered who I was,
It whispered softly through the trees,
A name once spoken full of life,
Now drifting faintly on the breeze.
It sang to me of what I’d lost,
Of love that slipped through trembling hands,
Of moments gone, of hearts that wept,
Of time’s unmerciful demands.
The air was thick with souls like mine,
Each one a tear that never dried,
We drifted past the edge of faith,
Through memories the earth denied.
No mirror caught my passing shade,
No echo dared to call my name,
The world moved on without my breath,
Its light untouched, its flame the same.
I reached for warmth, I reached for love,
Through walls of dust, through broken prayer,
I felt the heartbeat of the world,
I found it pulsing, unaware.
Each dream I touched turned into mist,
Each promise crumbled into bone,
although I screamed, the night just sighed,
A hollow sound, forever known.
Now endless dark becomes my shroud,
My thoughts the wind, my tears the rain,
I haunt the places once called home,
Yet none remember my refrain.
The stars above refuse to burn,
The moon looks on, detached, withdrawn,
I remain, a drifting ghost,
Between the dusk and doomed-to-dawn.
Still, somewhere in the mortal world,
A candle flickers, faint and small,
even though I’ll never reach its flame,
I swear I see it, through it all.
A lost soul searching for the light,
That all the living walk upon,
I’ll follow hope through shadowed lands,
Until my heart becomes the dawn

A deeply haunting and beautifully written poem—its imagery of silence, loss, and quiet perseverance lingers long after reading. The final note of hope, fragile yet unwavering, gives the darkness a powerful emotional depth.
This one is deep, I like it…
