Tradition with a twist

Once in a dream, I thought to pray

And in a sphere of light I caught

A glimpse of the eternal day

Here is the gold for which we fought:

x

“Now, blessed be the Lord of Light

Whose brilliance begets of sight

Who guides the stars each every night

Show me the path; lead me aright”

x

And so I see, and so see through

These images we make of You

Whose form transcends all metaphor

These words are smoke and mirrors more

x

Than what it is they try to say

More to the point, they mark the way

And yet, look close, they lead astray

What does the magic mirror say?

x

“Reflect and hear me, but do not fear me

For I am naught but your own self

x

You see we and I see we, but are you really seeing me?

And were I just a bumblebee, could you still see the you in me?”

x

For the Two that are One is the One that is All

Let these words light the sun, ‘fore the rain starts to fall

x

“Thy praise be sung, Thy dawn has won, Thy cosmic clock hath struck seven.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.”
