The Long Winter

A Journey from Despair to Hope

By Ravi DPublished about a year ago 1 min read

I swam in that frozen lake for

Eighteen agonizing winters, only

Surfacing when my lungs

Were filled with ice

I shattered the surface

Gasped through blue lips

Just to feel

Warm, gentle

Sun

Oh, so cold and deep. I can never master the short and complete poem, it always gets away from me. I love this and the flair of signing your name at the end. Magnifico!

The flow is nice. Nice metaphor using winter and warm.
