The Long and Breezy Nights of December
Where fog dims the streetlights, and silence feels alive

The long and breezy nights of December arrive,
where the wind hums softly through sleeping lives.
Fog drapes the streets in a ghostly gray,
covering the lights that try to find their way.
No sound of feet, no echoing tone,
the city breathes quiet — a world alone.
Even the dogs curl warm in their sleep,
and cats stay hidden where shadows creep.
The air is cold, yet tender somehow,
touching the soul, not just the brow.
Each gust of wind tells stories untold,
of hearts once near, now silent and cold.
I stand beneath the muted skies,
feeling time slow where the silence lies.
In these nights of fog and air so thin,
I find a strange peace — the calm within how many words in this poem
