The Little One's Shirt (with Spiderman)

Poem

By K.A. SmithPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

An emblem
On this little one, never
Never could you replicate
That... joy of Spiderman.

O Superman O Superman
And Oh! Don't forget the dog.

And the little brave, brave, brave
One with Spiderman, blue
... and red, small.

Spiderman... O Spiderman
And Oh! Don't forget the spider.

Oh!

The description of the Spiderman part really gets to me. It makes me think of the excitement kids feel when they see their favorite superhero. I remember my nephew going nuts over a Spiderman toy. It was like he'd discovered a piece of magic. Made me wonder why that simple joy is so hard to recreate. What about you? What stood out to you in this poem?
