The Lighthouse

Grief

Winter's done, spring's begun

Summer's approaching fast

Another year without you

I just hope I'll last

I chose to cope with smoke

And whiskey in the coldest glass

On a mission to become

Comfortably numb

Run away from the pain

Let these emotions pass

I drip with self loathing and pretentiousness

I disguise it as apathy

The only ones who can sense it is

Those whom have felt tragedy

I lost my rock and all faith in god

Curse his name a lot, but if he exists he'll shake it off

I'm not afraid to die

I could leave and not say goodbye

But if heaven has none of earths sinful pleasures

I'd rather stay alive

Besides, I believe I know where you may reside

You're at the Lighthouse

Tell 'em to take me there

Here's the instructions, I hope I made it clear

Spread me in the sand

And know the pain is no more

We'll finally be reunited

When the tide pulls me from the shore.
