The lies of life

Plaster on that smile

Life is what we want it to be,

Lies we have heard our whole lives.

Living to chase our "dreams".

Longing for a different experience.

Lying to ourselves about how we are.

Labels that have no meaning.

Lacking joy and emotions just to get by.

Laughing at our pain to hide the lies.

Lazy days seem to0 hard to take.

Learning new things to feel the void,

Leaving us feeling empty and unsatisfied.

Life, can be hard sometimes.

Living in a world where life is not free.

Life is precious,

Like most say.

Lately, it does not seem that way.

About the Creator

Lauren Dee

I have had very disturbing dreams my whole life. I write fictional short stories, rants and poems all based off of my experiences in life. They can be dark, but it's the only way I can get them out of my mind.
