𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑼𝒔

You waited a lifetime

to get me to

this here and now

You don't just know my skillset

You created it

You've molded it through pain

and endless tears and trials

You made me watch Death

so I could see Your existence

You let me stand in the mire pit

so I could see the Root to freedom

You make me ask questions

so You can give answers

You make me see visions

so I can see through Your eyes

You've let me teeter the ledge of Forlorn

so I could see the prospect of Happy

You made me watch it snatched away

so I could see my own resilience

You let them flaunt Darkness

so I would flaunt Light

You let me know fear from them

so I could know confidence from You

You sent me off to school

so I can learn my authority through You

Your proving ground is wherever we are

not every gift given is for pleasure but

weapons of holy war that they are

some say they are not real

some say just figments of imagination

but we just dust off our boots

and keep going

I'm scared of cockroaches

but I'm not scared of the enemy or

his dark spirits
