✽ that You are bottling our tears

as they flow to a place that You set for

us from the very Beginning

✽ that he was made for

what he has yet to know

✽ that the salty rivers we cry

are forging a waterway to an ocean

no map has ever seen

✽ that You came once to

feel what he feels right now

✽ that our hearts beat in unison

and You carry ours when we think they

are beyond repair

✽ that when You call him out

from the shore that he will sink beneath

to emerge a new self

✽ that You created contrast at

the beginning so that we could

know the difference

✽ that we couldn't know joy and

compassion without

experiencing others' indifferent apathy

✽ that we couldn't know respect without

experiencing others' disrespect

✽ that we couldn't know true love without

experiencing others' exploitation

✽ that we couldn't see Your path without

experiencing being lost and wandered

✽ that we couldn't know ocean without

experiencing parched desert wilderness

✽ that an ocean washes softly across

white sand meant to smooth away regret

✽ that You hear him

✽ that You see him

✽ that You know him

✽that Darkness already existed and that

You created Light

for him

for this now

for this place

✽ that this is not an end

✽ that this is a beginning
