The Last Summer with You
A poem about friendship, loss, and memories that stay.

We were best friends,
like two stars in the sky,
always shining,
always close.
That summer,
we spent every day
running in the park,
laughing like nothing else mattered.
You told me secrets
I never forgot.
I promised to keep them safe—
even now.
One day,
you said you had to leave.
Just like that.
No goodbyes,
no promises.
I watched you go,
feeling empty,
like the sun had set too soon.
Sometimes,
I still see you there—
in the shade of the old tree,
in the sound of the wind.
I try to call,
but your voice is gone
like a song
that fades too fast.
I miss you,
my best friend,
more than words can say.
And maybe that’s why
this memory won’t let go.
