The Last Monarch

The Beauty And Comfort In Change

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Under a canopy of stars

The moonlight sings his serenade

The breezes blow a melody of autumn bliss

*

The rhythm dances on the leaves

Adrift - it flows from tree to tree

Until it lands a gentle kiss upon my lips

*

Creating a moment saved in time

A memory I’ll return to - down the line

When my heart needs to escape and reminisce

*

A safe place where I feel alive

The solace makes everything alright

Where every hurt released - ceases to exist

*

Like the last monarch taking flight

On these cool November nights

Metamorphosis bringing changes to assist

*

The transformations necessary

To modify ourselves successfully

For new opportunities - we simply can’t resist

I feel cradled and wispy. Wispy? Not weepy - just can't think of the word I'm looking for. 🤔🌺
