Maggie had been best friends with Maria since they were little. They had grown up together, shared all their secrets, and had always been there for each other. But as they got older, Maggie began to feel like Maria was starting to outgrow her.

Maria had always been popular, but in high school, she had become one of the most popular girls in their class. She was invited to all the parties and had a boyfriend who was a star athlete. Maggie, on the other hand, was quiet and studious, and she struggled to fit in with Maria's new crowd.

Maggie tried to be happy for Maria, but she couldn't help feeling left out and forgotten. Maria seemed to have no time for her anymore, and Maggie found herself spending more and more time alone.

One day, Maggie overheard Maria talking about her to a group of friends. She heard Maria say that she was tired of always having to drag Maggie along, and that she was holding her back from having more fun.

Maggie was devastated. She had always thought that their friendship was unbreakable, but now she realized that Maria had moved on without her. She tried to confront Maria about it, but Maria brushed her off and told her that she was being too sensitive.

The friction between the two girls continued to grow, and soon they were barely speaking to each other. Maggie felt like she had lost her best friend, and she didn't know how to get her back.

It wasn't until they graduated from high school that things started to change. Maria had been accepted to a prestigious university, while Maggie had decided to attend a local community college. Maria was excited about her new life and all the opportunities it would bring, but she was also nervous about leaving everything she knew behind.

One day, Maria called Maggie and asked if they could meet up for coffee. Maggie was hesitant at first, but she agreed. When they met, Maria apologized for the way she had treated Maggie and admitted that she had been wrong to take her for granted.

Maggie was hesitant to forgive her at first, but she could see that Maria was sincere. They talked for hours, catching up on all the things that had happened since they had drifted apart. And in that moment, they realized that their friendship was still as strong as ever.

The friction between them had been painful, but it had also forced them to confront their issues and work through them. In the end, their friendship was stronger than ever, and they both knew that they would always be there for each other, no matter what
