"The Lantern's Sway"
Entry for the "Lantern's Light" challenge

There's a light that shines in me.
Can't you see the lantern sway?
Is it darkness?
That blinds your view?
Or the fear of seeing, some of me, in you?
It bathes the shadows of my mind,
with light that leaves yesterday behind.
Can't you see the lantern sway?
It's brightness has somewhat dimmed.
And at times it does flicker,
threatening to go out,
and leave me in the darkness,
stumbling all about..
Can't you see the lantern sway?
It's emulates the darkness.
As I seek to find my way,
with it's faithful glow.
At a price I've yet to pay..
Can't you see the lantern sway?
This light that shines in me,
is of more than one dominion,
in the lantern's golden glow,
harbors an opinion.
Exposing all my sin,
I've hidden deep within,
the part of me that's you.
Can't you see the lantern sway?

Beautiful work, Pamela! Love the way it's held together by the refrain.
This is so beautifully real. Great response to the prompt.
