The Language of Rain

What the clouds whisper to the earth

By The 9x FawdiPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

The rain speaks in a tapping code

on rooftops and on window glass,

a language that the earth has known

since ancient clouds began to pass.

Each drop a story from the sky,

a journey taken through the air,

a tiny piece of cloud that's learned

the art of falling everywhere.

It whispers secrets to the soil,

sings lullabies to sleeping seeds,

washes clean the dusty leaves

and meets the quiet, waiting weeds.

The puddles become looking glass,

the gutters turn to flowing streams,

the rain rewrites the world in wet

and fulfills all the dry earth's dreams.

So when the gray clouds gather near

and first drops patter on the ground,

remember that the sky is speaking

the most poetic, ancient sound.
