The Knight and the Queen
A Tale of Forbidden Love, Heartbreak, and Unyielding Devotion

In quiet nights when all was still,
She met him on the lonely hill,
A queen with tears behind her eyes,
A knight with promises and lies.
Their love was wrong, or so they said,
But still, they dreamed and still they bled.
For in each other, they found light,
Yet darkness followed every night.
She wore a crown, but felt its weight,
He held his sword, but cursed his fate.
For how could love, so soft and true,
Be something they must bid adieu?
They whispered words they couldn’t keep,
And in their hearts, the wounds ran deep.
Each stolen kiss, a fleeting taste,
Of happiness that went to waste.
For duty called, and so they part,
But still she holds him in her heart.
And though the world may tear them down,
Their love won’t wear the thorny crown.
In every shadow, every tear,
She feels him close, forever near.
For love, though lost, is never gone,
It lingers on, it lingers on.
And in the end, when all is said,
When silence falls and they are dead,
The story told will always be,
Of how they loved, yet couldn’t be.
But in that love, there’s something pure,
A pain that time will not obscure.
For though their hearts were forced to break,
Their love is something none could take.
