You must understand that I love you,

First and foremost.

From the very aching depths of my broken bones

To the wounds slashing me open

Letting all this warmth

Seep from my flesh into the dirt like rain,

I love you from the bottom of my blood

To the bubbling top of my boiling soul.

.

It's an ugly, imperfect love,

A beating obsession that twinkles like the asteroid

Sheering through the atmosphere

Grinning as it shouts,

"I will end you!"

Because what love is worth existence

When cataclysmic ends

Are an option?

.

Second and last, you must know that I have the teeth

To rip you open

And expose thoughts

Nestled in side your chest

That you never believed you possessed.

I can smell them like lightning, burning inside of you,

Searing memories into your ribs

Before you even register the pain.

.

There is a ghost inside of me,

Haunting your passion, your pleasure.

It marches through the weeds

Of your desires and makes maps

For me to follow

When the lights go out.

I will always know you better

Than you know yourself.

This piece is absolutely haunting in its beauty. The raw intensity of emotion pours through every line, creating a vivid, almost tangible sense of love's power—both its destructive and transformative sides. The imagery, especially the comparison to an asteroid and the ghost haunting desires, is brilliant and evocative. It’s a love that feels wild, dangerous, and all-consuming, yet deeply intimate. I love how you captured the complexity of love—its darkness and light, its obsession and vulnerability. This poem truly leaves an impression. Beautifully done!

👏👏👏 Another fine performance! The way you weave words into unique descriptions is an admirable talent. I'm always in for a treat, allowing those words to paint the chosen reality. Congrats, my friend!

How haunting an ominous! Brilliantly written, Silver! It’s definitely leaving me feeling uneasy, especially those final two lines

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. It deserves that damn, a heart handshake and a sombre and silent bow of reverence. Overegging it a little? I don't fucking care. This is stunning. I love how the first bit feels so very beautiful, even in its macabre details and then the second part sounds way more intense and visceral. I think it is a good representation of aspects of love that often we prefer not to talk about - or some people prefer not to talk about. And I can see why you love it so much. Pristine, but still deep... such sublime use of words. Always a little in awe of you, my friend. Well bloody fucking done.

Oh, Silver. This made me quiver a little with the frisson of dangerous love, one that can burn or self-implode. I loved this "I can smell them like lightning, burning inside of you," and that last stanza. Sort of spooky and sort of threatening and sort of passionate. Loved it.

This felt like a dialogue between someone and their anxiety for me... Like the way people always say anxiety is present because it's your body's way of protecting you/ taking care of you even though you might not actually be in danger. There's a bit of a love/ hate thing that happens with mine where I miss it when I don't feel anxiety (unless I'm writing)... so this was relatable for me.... but, this is probably just my readers bias! 😅 Anyways, this was really compelling and a relatable read for me!
