The Key

Where could it be?

By Kailani ThompsonPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

There is an urge, a time, a need

Something, somewhere

For you to seek

A place so shallow

Yet somehow deep

Lost in your mind

This place you keep

What’s here to find is up to you

Choose to be blind or see what’s true

Take a step up to the door

But where’s the key you’re searching for?

Something’s missing

Something seized

Tempestuous storm of mind disease

Lost in the waters, down in the deep

Never to be found, your key it seems

But trust yourself, trust your troubles

The soul will grow throughout its struggles

Waste some time, water the seed

Eyes will open and envision your key

And through that door, if you venture inside

Maybe you’ll learn there’s no reason to hide

From the world, or from yourself

No money found but an abundance of wealth

Wherever you go, in sickness and health

Return to your place

And see what you’re dealt.
