The indomitable spirit
Embodying Generosity and Resilience: A Captivating Portrait

That face, burnt and blackened by the sun, is still making a ruckus in my memories.
Age is resting at the same place.
A thick needle and a piece of leather are dancing between the trembling fingers.
All the definitions of life seem to be changing for self-respect and self-esteem.
At that stage of life, people rest, but she is adamant.
Seasons change, terrible cold, deadly heat, scares her. In return, she only smiles.
My eyes became moist when she gave half of her only bread to a young beggar sitting nearby.
At that time, I felt the embarrassment on the beggar's face and the vastness of the heart of that woman who gave the donation.

Gosh, this was like a blade through my heart but still pumping life in me. (Age is resting at the same place) makes me think you are lending our minds to the age frozen in time where the memory still sits. (At that stage of life, people rest, but she is adamant.) it shows how much respect is there for this person, and how we can learn from them, never to use age as an excuse for anything. I can’t get over how much detail you put into this piece, it was as if it was a 1000 paged book, written with such skill I can’t help but to be in awe of it. You even wrote about long suffering in the terrible cold, and the deadly heat.
What a wholesome way to describe her generosity! I'm amazed. You know what brother, I've never believed in rhyme-free poems. In my opinion- they damage the joy of the POEM. But your poems are changing my opinion and I think I need to revise it! You write so authentically. Masha Allah
