i hear the clock call: tick, tick, tick
indicating that i am running late
tick
paying, deciding and showing up
late
tick, tick
pushing
tick, tick
prodding, demanding
tick, tick
expecting to be my only priority
timers, schedulers and calendars, alerting me, alarming tones, clang clanging at me
tick, tick, tick
reminding me of my lack of punctuality
hurriedly i'm hurried
tick
onto the next thing on the list
“no time to say hello/goodbye”
tick, tick, tick
i’m late, i’m late, i’m late -
I KNOW
no time, you know time
tick, tick, ticking away
through my fingers sifting, slipping, dripping
tick
stealing my sanity, stealing my space
on my phone
on the wall
tick
in my room
in my head
looming doom
tick, tick, tick, tick, tick

That was disturbing in its accuracy. Well done.
Our obsession with time truly is the bane of existence! You did a great job evoking the anxiety that our busy schedules and commitments trigger. Great poetry, Kelli. I wish the reality of your subject matter was not so!
Argh, bloody hell. Yeah. I mean yeah, I get this. I hate this!
Love the power and intensity of this poem! Very well written!
