The Hurricane
Are you ready
Warm dampness is what I need.
It strengthens my great eye.
My wind is fierce indeed.
I will cause many to die.
A few feet of torrential rain,
will fall from clouds so thick.
It will be a national strain,
that will make you worried sick.
When I come ashore,
there will be a 15 foot wall of water.
You better be ready for even more,
or face a deadly slaughter.
I’ll spin up a tornado or two,
just to add to the gross destruction.
What are you going to do,
when “run” is only your instruction?
Monstrous will be my sustained wind.
Can your house withstand the strain?
The situation will be extremely grim,
so much more than just heavy rain.
If you choose stay in my path.
To God, you better pray.
For to withstand my wrath,
it will be the devil to pay.

Also, this was very well written. I'm saddened that you understand hurricanes so well, but this was a great poem.
Mark, are you in FL and referring to Milton? If so, I hope you're able to stay safe!
