Do you have respect

I am just a piece of cloth,

strung upon a tall pole.

A symbol that is thought,

to represent a nations soul.

Each color corresponds,

to ideals that are held high.

How will you respond,

to the pride in another’s eye.

There are some who

Have no respect.

The sins that they pursue,

are a national defect.

You need to think of those

who gave up their lives.

For only God knows,

where their sacrifice lies.

So the next time you see,

the flag flying high.

Will you pay homage to

the fallen who have died?
