The Hungry Lions
Did you remember to lock the door?
Outside, the hungry lions roar.
Each seeks its pound of flesh to eat;
Nothing nicer than human meat.
They circle, eyes gleaming bright,
Waiting for the fall of night.
But fear not, for inside you’re safe,
Though danger lurks in every place.
Their growls deep, their teeth are sharp,
Echoing through the cold, dark park.
Their hunger gnaws, their patience thin,
Looking for where to begin.
But inside, you rest and hide,
Knowing there’s nowhere to run outside.
The lions prowl, but all you see,
Is the safety of your sanctuary.
Still, the roar, it chills the spine,
A reminder of the hungry line.
But for now, you sleep in peace,
Hoping the lions’ hunger will cease.

Good description of a lion's life and expectations.
Majestic, though hungry creatures! A lovely poem.
