The Human Influence

Causing Displacement

The Human Influence

Extinguished like a cigarette

Pressing firmly, until the smolder

She sighed, "it's that easy to leave regret,

a wounded carcas, on the shoulder"

She shrugged his disappointment off

no longer her cross to carry

When he questioned her, she scoffed

flicking the ashes and the cherry

Along with it, her discontent

and her need for his approval

She left a list, for evidence

though truthful, it was brutal

**

* find a place of solace

*do not disclose its whereabouts

*protect your inner peace

*exterminate the parasites

*disappear into the void

*be sure to cover up your footprints

*find that thing that brings you joy

*with little to no, human influence

*clear your heart and soul

*free your mind of those distractions

*regain your own control

*until you're lost, in satisfaction
